a tribute to
CHILL PILL DAYSlook at this picture. it isn't 3 macs meals. it's almost 4. well, this picture brings back the memory of CHILL PILL DAY I (13/12/2006)! it all started on 11/12/2006... it was a special day because it was shu's first day at work at Conrad International. we sent her off to work with tears brimming in our eyes (that's not really true) as though it's our daughter's first day in school! well, we're definitely proud of her! SHU: THE HIGH-POTENTIAL CREPE MASTER CHEF and so, shu went to her job, pipi had to go home early as she was flying to Haerbin the next day and guess who's left: lili, gigi and me. THE LONESOME 3SOME. we have so much in common in a sad way.... so we decided: ditch all the guys in the world and form the 3some. who needs guys anyway. haha! now that was the 0th ANNIVERSARY!
{ CHILL PILL DAY I }one day, 13/12/2006, we had to send zizi off at the airport. she was going to India until feb 2007 and that's gonna be real long. my spouse!!!! (weeps) ok so we realised, oh it's we 3 again! lili, gigi and me. the 3some. what's 3 girls to do on a day with nothing better to accomplish? it was so early in the morning and we were starving. we went up to the 2nd floor to find food but nothing was opened. that level of the airport was like some twilight zone. if we were to die of starvation, no one will notice. in the end we decided to go macs...
that's where the story begins (groans)
we met a rather unintelligent but hopelessly generous macs staff. this guy. he's really weird.
me: gigi, can u help me get more sugar please?
gigi: excuse me, can i have some packets of sugar?
guy: gives like 6 packets of chilli and 3 packets of sugar
lili: why did the guy give you chilli for?
me: maybe he was trying to hint that u're hot, gigi!
(roars of laughter)
lili: i need maple syrup
me: lili, can u help me get 2 packets of butter as well? tell the guy specifically 1 maple syrup and 2 butter. he won't go wrong.
lili: 1 maple syrup and 2 butter
guy: gives like 2 maple syrup and 3 butter
lili: i think he wants us to have diabetes.like i said, unintelligent but hopelessly generous. hahaah. we like binged on macs and then lili and i went to the toilet and when we were walking back, i tnk we saw some illegal exchange going on between 2 people. the most dangerous place is the safest place.
oh have u seen the BUDGET TERMINAL? well we hadn't so since we had nothing to do, we thought why not pay a visit to the budget terminal for kicks?
me: lili, why are there so little chairs here? so pathetic..
lili: cuz it's a budget terminal! u're supposed to sit on the floor!
good answer. 10/10.
and so there's only one place to eat: HANS
yeah. i''m sure there's plenty of room for improvement.
so i guess this is what people, who have seriously nothing to do, do. we decided to check out the arrival hall which was... erm about 100m away. that's how small the terminal is. since we dream to backpack around many countries in future, we thought we might pick out some tips from the real deal! guess wad we picked up: 2 really HOT caucasian guys who look like they popped out from Amazing Race! OMG!
Backpackers Tips:
1) wear shades (even if u're indoors)
2) bring along a ginormous haversack (even though it may be half-filled)
3) wear caps
4) (for girls only) the more spaghetti straps the better
5) berms
6) disheavaled, wind-swept, but still has an element of style, hair
7) flip flops
8) bikini under spaghtti
9) as many brochures and maps in hands as possiblelater on, we decided to take bus 27 to IKEA Tampines which is our first ever visit there. we were really tired and we were slacking off in the bus.
me: hey i tnk we need to get down at the next stop but i'm not very sure.
lili: take a chill pill man, it doesnt matter if we missed it.
thanks to the reigning attitude, the stop after was an expressway away and in Sengkang. hahhaahha! we had to take the bus back. all we ended up doing in IKEA was eating, lying on every sofa and bed and say the magic words before collapsing into oblivion, "POSTUREPEDIC!", crapping, photo-whoring and making our own show. 3some rocks (:
{ CHILL PILL DAY II }Chill Pill Day II took place on 23/12/2006. on the day, another new set of 3: shu, kong and i went to terminal 2 to send xixi off to Vietnam with jing niu and family.
me, kong, shu and xixiafter that, we had nothing to do as usual. shu and kong decided to come to my house since it was rather nearby. they found out that my house is perpetually dark even in the day and it induces sleep. since i sort of knew they were coming and i remembered promising them that they will get to see my eccentric younger brother in an exhibition style... i did this before my brother opened the door/enclosure.
kong and shu were surfing the net for an apartment or house to rent in Aus while i served them Toasted Almond Ice-cream (:
later on, we went town to meet pipi (: we were so bored, we ended up going to Art Friend to fool around...
in a while, shu had to go meet her jie mei friend. so there was a new set of 3: pipi, kong and me! we went to Spenelli to chill and just chat up. we talked about lotsa random topics... from pipi's trip to Haerbin and the story of how she got herself into 5 layers of fugly track pants, to our future backpacking and travelling adventures, to THE BOOK...
we kinda overshot our time and ended up going home late but still, Chill Pill Day II... yet another ful-filling but at the same time an unaccomplishing bum-around day (:
{ CHILL PILL DAY III }Chill Pill Day III. as you might have guessed it already, chill pill days are destined to have only 3 people. on this day, there was a new 3some: gigi, shu and me! we went to pipi's house in the morning for a swim and tanning. but the sun was being egoistical so we didn't get tanned.
later on, gigi had to go meet her friend so shu and i met up with kong in town! oooh! back to the previous previous three-o: shu, kong and me! we went to borders and like did nothing. kong and i found this book with a lot of alliteration of "h" and we were reading it like some tongue-twister thing. in the evening, we made our way to Esplanade or rather Colours By The Bay to catch pipi's sister's performance. KEWEI!!! yeah she was really really awesome! she sang a lot of jazz numbers, a canto song and a few chinese songs. i thought that the last song by David Tao suited her the most since she worked with him. we pretended to be a sub-committee of her fan club... ahaha
later on shu, kong and me went to Glutton's Bay to eat! we ordered one plate of carrot cake, kaya fondue and satay (with prawns)!!! after makaning, we had to go home but we just had to be spastic for one last time before the day ends...
